Fibre bonded carpets and carpets tiles are used exclusively in contract installations and are normally cheaper than tufted carpets. They also feel hard and stiffer to the touch. Fibre bonded carpets are made up of millions of fibres, normally a mixture of Polypropylene and Nylon, punched into a scrim backing by thousands of very fine needles, hence its less commonly used name of Needlepunch carpet. In the North of England the most frequently specified products belong to BURMATEX. Like most of the other fibre bonded manufacturers they are based in West Yorkshire, and offer a wide range of flat, ribbed and velour carpets and carpet tiles. Click on the Burmatex logo above to visit their website.
