For many years the decorative vinyl market was very limited in the range of products available. Cushioned vinyl dominated, but the choices of tiles open to the consumer were poles apart in terms of quality and price. At the lower end were cheap embossed tiles such as Armstrong Craftlon and Marley Sculpture, the next step up was the hot pressed vinyl tile - Amtico. An excellent quality product, with a huge range of styles available and a very durable pure P.V.C. wear layer made Amtico ideal for contract locations but often too expensive for many households.

Karndean spotted this huge gap in the market in the early '90s and exploited it by launching a fabulous range of imitation Slate, Marble, Granite (Knight Tile) and Timber (Knight Plank). With a thinner P.V.C. wear layer that was still more than sufficient to stand up to most heavy domestic locations, its quality and price point made it an instant hit with consumers. Karndean have steadily increased the range to include Terracotta, Ceramic, Roman Mosaic and Parquet patterns, together with feature strips and decorative borders and corners plus the facility to offer clipped corners and key squares.

Karndean is now the biggest selling decorative vinyl tile on the residential market. Pennine were one of their very first distributors and we pride ourselves on carrying their whole tile and plank range in stock which can be delivered to the nearest tile/plank within 48 hours.
